Rosa Parks and the Bus Boycott

Start listening

65 years ago today, Rosa Parks was arrested for civil disobedience. She sat down on a bus and refused to give up her seat to a white passenger. The events of that day in 1955 started a yearlong Montgomery Bus Boycott and a civil rights movement. We are joined by Madeline Burkhardt, the curator of the Rosa Parks Museum.

To donate to the museum, ROSA to 56512 or donate online. You can visit the museum on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Just a note, the virtual tours will be 12/2 from 10am-11am CST, 12/3 from 12pm -1pm CST, and 12/4 from 3pm-4pm CST.
