Host

The host and Executive Producer of This is Today is Russ Catanach. As host, he talks about the historical and nostalgic events of each day.

Russ has a background in radio broadcasting, having worked for various San Francisco radio stations, including K-101 (now Star 101.3) and Alice@97.3. Russ has also performed improv and stand-up comedy.

In addition to hosting This is Today, he is a marketing professional and consultant for local businesses.

65 years ago today, Rosa Parks was arrested for civil disobedience. She sat down on a bus and refused to give up her seat to a white passenger.  The events of that day in 1955 started a yearlong Montgomery Bus Boycott and a civil rights movement.
